As a Volkswagen Group communications platform, the Autostadt offers an opportunity to experience the company's values along with the many facets of mobility. We welcome you as a guest to our theme park and extracurricular learning centre – one of Germany's most popular tourist destinations. While enjoying your stay at the Autostadt, we kindly ask you to observe our house rules with due consideration to other people and property. Please act responsibly and follow the guidelines of common courtesy.

We hope you enjoy an exciting stay at the Autostadt!

These house rules apply to the entire Autostadt site, including all buildings and car parks located (hereinafter referred to collectively as the "site or park area").

Please keep in mind that Germany's traffic regulations (StVO) apply to the Autostadt parking areas. To facilitate the flow of traffic in our car parks, kindly follow the instructions of our staff and park your vehicle only in designated areas.

Please note that parking spaces reserved for disabled persons or parents accompanied by children etc. may only be used by those in possession of the appropriate permits. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense.

The use of our car parks constitutes a separate user agreement. Car park terms and conditions are posted for your information at the car park entrances and on the ticket machines.

During the daily opening hours, usually from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, visitors require a valid admission ticket or an online or mobile phone ticket (hereinafter referred to as "admission ticket"), which they can use to enter the Autostadt site at the designated entrances. Please keep the admission ticket in your possession for the duration of your stay and show it to Autostadt staff on request. The admission ticket is only valid on the day it is activated. Tickets issued for a specific date are only valid on that day and expire thereafter.

Personalised tickets, e.g., online or mobile phone tickets, are not transferable. When using a personalised ticket to enter the Autostadt, you must show an identification document with photo if requested by Autostadt staff. If the photo ID and the personalised ticket do not match, the Autostadt reserves the right to confiscate your ticket and to exercise its domiciliary rights. As a general rule, the Autostadt does not refund admission fees. If a mobile phone ticket is lost, the Autostadt will only provide the booked service if the customer can be clearly identified, and the ticket has not yet been used. This does not constitute any legal entitlement.

In the interests of your personal safety, we kindly ask you to follow the instructions of our staff.

We also ask you to stay on the designated walkways and dispose of all waste in the collection bins provided. Pets (with the exception of assistance or guide dogs) are not permitted on the Autostadt grounds. Please do not feed the animals in the Autostadt park area. Political rallies or demonstrations are not permitted on the Autostadt premises.

Possession of weapons or pressurized spray cans containing paint or hazardous substances on the Autostadt grounds is forbidden. Fireworks or other incendiary devices are also prohibited.

The consumption of food or beverages brought to the Autostadt is not permitted. This does not apply to baby food, or any special foods required for those suffering from certain illnesses.

Food brought to the Autostadt by participants in educational or day care programmes may only be consumed at the learning centre site (and not in the park area).

Persons who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs may be barred from the Autostadt and from participating in events. In this case, there is no entitlement to a refund of admission fees paid.

The use of bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, roller skates or similar is prohibited on the park grounds, the Stadtbrücke (bridge) and the promenade unless it is expressly permitted in individual cases or as described below.

The following regulations apply to guests visiting the Autostadt with micro vehicles or alternative means of transport.

Promenade and Stadtbrücke (bridge):
• Inline skates are permitted for use only at normal walking speed and in compliance with the rules of common courtesy
• E-boards/skateboards must be carried in these areas
• E-scooters/kick scooters must be pushed by hand in these areas
• E-bikes/bicycles must be pushed by hand in these areas

Exception: Young children (age 2-6) who are within immediate calling distance/sight of a guardian and using a child-sized version of the above-listed means of transport on the promenade or Stadtbrücke (bridge) are exempt from this regulation, providing they follow the rules of common courtesy.

Park grounds:

The use of the above-listed means of transport is generally prohibited on the park grounds. The lockers and cloakroom located on the lower floor of the Piazza or the bicycle stands can be used to store/park these vehicles.

Exception: Young children (2-6 years) who are within immediate calling distance/sight of a guardian and using a child-sized version of the above-listed means of transport on the promenade or Stadtbrücke (bridge) are exempt from this regulation, providing they follow the rules of common courtesy.

Special events or situations requiring increased security may result in a restriction of this regulation.

= Some areas of the Autostadt are under video surveillance to protect legitimate interests. The video-monitored areas are marked by signs. Please check these signs for information regarding data protection.

Legislation regarding the protection of non-smokers in Lower Saxony requires the Autostadt to implement strict measures for the protection of non-smoking guests and employees. In accordance with §1, paragraphs 9 and 10 of these laws, smoking at the Autostadt in any form, including e-cigarettes, is only permitted in designated, clearly marked outdoor areas and on the lower level of the Piazza in the GroupForum. Anyone found smoking outside of these designated areas will be asked to go to an area where smoking is permitted. Violations of the Autostadt smoking rules may result in removal from the premises, without compensation.

As part of the Autostadt's domiciliary rights, the possession, consumption and distribution of cannabis products containing THC is prohibited on the entire Autostadt premises. This includes the outdoor areas designated for smokers.

Manned or unmanned aircraft (e.g. drones) are not permitted to take off, fly or land anywhere on the Autostadt grounds.

Some Autostadt attractions may be subject to special usage or safety regulations. Within the framework of these special rules and regulations, the Autostadt may deny use by certain individuals or groups. Where applicable, special rules are posted at the respective attractions or reference is made to them during the booking process.

For your safety, we recommend that you read and observe these rules. Please follow the instructions of our staff.

Any violations of these rules may result in expulsion from the attractions, without compensation.

1. We shall be liable to you in all cases of culpable behaviour in the event of intent or gross negligence in accordance with the statutory provisions for damages or reimbursement of futile expenses.

2. In the event of a breach of a contractual obligation, the fulfilment of which makes the proper execution of the contract possible in the first place and on the observance of which you as a customer may regularly rely (so-called cardinal obligation or main performance obligation), we shall also be liable in deviation from paragraph 1 in the event of simple negligence and limited to compensation for foreseeable and typical damage.

3. Our liability for damages arising from injury to life, limb or health and under the product liability law(s) shall remain unaffected by the above limitations and exclusions of liability.

4. Insofar as the liability of Autostadt GmbH is excluded or limited in accordance with the above paragraphs, this also applies to the liability of our vicarious agents and assistants.

Upon presentation of a cloakroom token, stored items will be handed over without checking for entitlement. Without a cloakroom token, items may only be handed over to visitors if they can prove ownership.

Cloakroom items that have been mixed up, damaged or lost must be reported to the cloakroom staff immediately. This also applies to the loss of a cloakroom token, in which case the visitor is obliged to pay for a replacement token.

We are only liable for loss and material damage to luggage or cloakroom items that have been handed over to Autostadt staff for safekeeping or transport. No other damages are covered. This specifically applies to technical equipment (e.g. photo or video cameras, mobile phones, laptops) as well as jewellery and cash, which are not covered by the safekeeping contract or liability.

We provide lockers on a temporary basis. The use of these lockers is limited to regular Autostadt opening times. Lockers will be opened by staff after closing time. For safety reasons, the locker contents will be removed and stored by the Autostadt security service. This storage is limited to a maximum of two weeks. Valuables will then be forwarded to the City of Wolfsburg lost property office; all other items will be disposed of. Food may not be stored in lockers; any food items found in lockers will be disposed of. The limitations of liability mentioned above apply accordingly.

1. Audio, photo, film or video recordings by Autostadt visitors are permitted for private use only.

The use of audio, photo, film or video recordings for private purposes applies solely to a reproduction which may be shown to those persons who appear in the recording. In addition, the right of reproduction and the right of public access are only permitted for uploading audio, photo, film or video recordings to the visitor's personal account on social media networks and/or private blogs.

Any other additional use of these recordings requires written consent from the Autostadt GmbH management.

Recordings within closed rooms during presentations, film screenings or events are not permitted. Audio, photo, film or video recordings during an event, including for private use, are prohibited. In the event of non-compliance, event visitors may be asked to leave the Autostadt premises.

2. Audio, photo, film or video recordings by persons or service partners authorised by Autostadt GmbH: In the event that audio, photo, film or video recordings are made during events by persons or service partners authorised by Autostadt GmbH, it is possible that you may be recognised in the recordings. If you do not wish to be recorded, please inform the admission staff or the person recording you. On request, the admission staff will provide you with a "No Photos” sticker that can be visibly worn on your clothing.

Purposes and use of recordings: Audio, photo, film or video recordings are made to visually document events and for the purpose of reporting during and after the event. These recordings may be published on media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram or our website). We reserve the right to use these recordings to announce and advertise future events organised by the Autostadt via the aforementioned channels.
