21. March to 7. April
Urban Art
During the spring event, our theme park will be transformed into a huge urban art trail featuring 21 internationally renowned artists.
These include Guido van Helten, known for his monumental, photorealistic murals (large-scale wall paintings), graffiti pioneers DAIM and CAN2, whose works can be seen in cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Paris, as well as Magda Sayeg, founder of “urban knitting,” who will colorfully wrap trees and objects around the customer center in the Autostadt – a playful statement against urban anonymity.
A special highlight: Venetian artist Peeta transforms the exterior façade of the former Lamborghini Pavilion into a visual masterpiece with a spectacular 3D illusion.
“Colours of Light” – light show on the piazza
Colorful, translucent areas of color transform the piazza into a shimmering, atmospheric landscape of light depending on the time of day.
The Monoliths – urban canvases in the park
Among other things, the artists are working on 13 specially installed monoliths – free-standing blocks up to 8.5 meters high – which serve as giant canvases. The works are being created live during the spring event, allowing you to experience the artists at work and engage in conversation with them.
QR codes on the artworks give you access to short films, interviews, and background information on the individual artists and their works.
