Accessibility information

for the www.autostadt.de

Autostadt represents the modern mobility of tomorrow. Just as the automobile revolutionized travel, the internet has fundamentally changed how we exchange information. Our aim is to give everyone unrestricted access to these achievements and to allow them to participate in our information offerings in a self-determined way.

Our Autostadt websites and applications should therefore be equally accessible and operable for all people. To ensure this, we incorporate the latest findings from development and accessibility. When creating our digital websites and applications, we adhere to the recommendations and specifications of the World Wide Web Consortium ( W3C). Their globally recognised and valid standards serve as guiding principles as we further develop our services. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are constantly being adapted to new requirements. They are currently available in Version 2.2 and evaluate compliance status according to three levels: A, AA and AAA. The content of our websites and applications are accessible to the extent that they ideally correspond to the second level (AA).

We offer you the following services:

How you can use our services without barriers

According to the Accessibility Reinforcement Act, we must make our services, which are so-called services in electronic commerce, accessible. This means that, in particular, relevant content such as texts, images and certain functions in our Autostadt websites and applications must be perceptible, operable, comprehensible and robust. We offer you the following functions (grouped by service):

1. Perceivable

We ensure that all important information is clearly and unambiguously perceptible and accessible to all users:

  • Text alternatives for non-textual content: Images, graphics and other visual elements are provided with alternative text to make the content accessible to people with visual impairments.
  • Subtitles and audio descriptions: Where necessary, videos offer the option of subtitles and audio descriptions so that visual content can also be accessed audibly
  • Colours and contrasts: We use high contrast between text and background so that Autostadt websites and applications remain easy to read even for people with visual impairments.
  • Adaptation to screen sizes: Autostadt websites and applications automatically adapt to different screen sizes and orientations so that they are always displayed appropriately.

2. Operable

The navigation on our Autostadt websites and applications is designed so that all functions can be used without any problems:

  • Keyboard operability: All our Autostadt websites and applications can be fully navigated using a keyboard for people with motor impairments as well as for everyone else.
  • Focus markers: Interactive elements (such as links and buttons) are always clearly recognisable and can be easily selected.
  • Time restrictions: Where there is a time limit, we inform you in good time and you have the option to extend or switch it off as required.
  • No annoying animations: There are only a few, non-invasive animations, which you can also deactivate if you wish.
  • No distracting visual effects: The Autostadt websites and applications contain no flashing lights or other effects that could cause adverse health effects.
  •  User-friendly interaction: Navigate the Autostadt websites and applications with ease, regardless of whether you use the mouse, touchscreen or keyboard.

3. Understandable

The content on our Autostadt websites and applications is designed so that it can be easily understood by all users, regardless of their individual abilities:

  • Clear structure: clearly organised headings and clear labelling help you to find your way around quickly.
  • Comprehensible texts: We use simple and clear language to ensure that all information is communicated clearly and without misunderstandings.
  • Error prevention and correction: We support you in avoiding errors and offer you easy-to-understand assistance if you need to correct something.
