50 years of Polo

To mark the 50th anniversary, we are presenting two special versions of the bestseller in the Customer Center on the first floor: the green Polo 1 is reminiscent of the 1970s and combines historic character with timeless elegance. The Polo WRC show car embodies the sportiest side of the model series. With its striking rally look and aerodynamic details, the vehicle is reminiscent of the successes in the World Rally Championship: the Polo WRC won four world championship titles and set new standards in motorsport. Now the show car brings this dynamism to the customer center.

“Small on the outside. Big on the inside.” - Volkswagen introduced the practical Polo 50 years ago with this slogan. A small car that began life in 1975 as a compact two-door model and developed into a global bestseller over six generations. Series production started in Wolfsburg and was expanded to international locations with increasing success. With over 20 million vehicles produced, the Polo is one of the most successful compact models in the world.
