For more than seven decades, the legendary VW bus has been moving people and goods all over the world. To mark its 75th anniversary, we invite you on a special journey through time in the special exhibition “75 years of VW Bus”: Selected Bulli models in the Zeithaus show everything from the air-cooled T1 to the all-electric ID. Buzz, show how the VW Bus has been reinvented again and again over the decades - but has always retained its unmistakable character.

Volkswagen Type 2 T1 “Sinalco” (1950)

The second oldest surviving Bulli in the world is a real highlight of the exhibition. With its eye-catching Sinalco paintwork and chassis number 1502, it exemplifies the early days of the van. The air-cooled 25 hp boxer engine in the rear, the rounded design and the split windshield make it a symbol of the economic miracle.

Volkswagen Type 2 T1 “Samba” (1964)

With 23 windows, panoramic roof and aluminum trim, the “Samba” embodies the elegant side of the Bulli. Introduced as a special model at the IAA in 1951, it quickly became a dream car for travelers. The example on display was ordered in Berlin and served as a vacation and touring vehicle for decades - today with a mileage of less than 70,000 kilometers.

Volkswagen T2 Westfalia Camper (1972)

The epitome of the mobile lifestyle: the T2 Camper with Westfalia conversion offered freedom and functionality in the 1970s. With a folding roof, kitchen module and space for up to four sleeping guests, it became the favorite of individual travelers - especially in the USA.

Volkswagen T3 “California” (1989)

The first series-produced camper van from Volkswagen set new standards. The T3 “California” on display has been used carefully for over 17 years and is in original condition. With 95 hp, comfortable equipment and iconic design, it represents the beginning of a new era of travel.

Volkswagen T4 Multivan “PanAmericana” (1999)

A true adventure vehicle: in 1999, this model completed the legendary Panamericana - 22,880 kilometers from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego in just 15 days. The T4 syncro with all-wheel drive and 102 hp proved impressively that the van remains reliable even under extreme conditions.

Volkswagen T5 Kombi 4MOTION

“Dakar support vehicle” (2006) This vehicle accompanied the Dakar Rally - equipped with roll cage, rally seats and special suspension. With 174 hp and authentic signs of use, it is a fascinating testimony to the Bulli's off-road expertise.

Volkswagen T6 Multivan Business (from 2015)

Luxury meets function: with its conference table, leather seats and ambient lighting, the T6 Business offers the perfect setting for mobile meetings. With up to 204 hp and understated design, it is the ideal vehicle for discreet comfort at the highest level.

Volkswagen T2 Electric (1972)

A pioneer of electromobility: Volkswagen presented an electrically powered T2 with an interchangeable battery system back in 1972. With 22 hp, a range of 80 kilometers and innovative technology, it was far ahead of its time - and a forerunner of today's e-mobility.

Volkswagen ID. Buzz (from 2022)

The electric relaunch of the Bulli: the ID. Buzz combines iconic design with modern technology. With 204 hp, a range of up to 423 kilometers and a quick-charging function, it is a symbol of sustainable mobility. As part of the #BULLILOVEstories, an ID. Buzz traveled over 120,000 kilometers through 41 countries, proving the suitability of electric Bullis for everyday use.
