Planning a visit to Autostadt? The following information will keep your journey as comfortable and climate-friendly as possible. Collecting your new ID-series vehicle at Autostadt? We’ll give you a few tips on keeping your journey climate-conscious the day you pick up your vehicle. We’ll also calculate the CO2 emissions generated during arrival and departure, and compensate for them in certified climate protection projects.
Coming BY CAR
Autostadt is quick and easy to reach by car. Wolfsburg is located on the A2 motorway between Hanover and Berlin. Follow the signs from the Wolfsburg-Königslutter motorway junction onto the A39 towards Wolfsburg and take the Wolfsburg-West exit. Autostadt is signposted from there.
Charging electric vehicle
There are several conveniently placed charging stations on the service building parking area for you to charge your EV during your stay.
Parking
There are four different parking areas close by. If you’ve picked up a vehicle from us, you can park it free of charge after collection.
Short-term parking at the service building (PK):
6:00 AM to 6:00 PM: €2.00 per hour
6:00 PM to 6:00 AM: €0.50 per hour
Parking areas P1, P2, and P3
6:00 AM to 6:00 PM: €1.00 per hour
6:00 PM to 6:00 AM: €0.50 per hour

DROPPING OFF YOUR RENTAL CAR
You can drop off your rental car (AVIS, Sixt, or Europcar) charged or refuelled on any day between 8:00 AM and 5:30 PM at the Team Parking short-term parking area. The rental car drop-off point is signposted.
Note: Not all rental car companies provide free rental car drop-off services at Autostadt, and transfer fees may vary by company. Contact the car rental company directly to enquire about potential transfer fees. You will not need to pay any transfer fees when booking a rental car through Autostadt (AVIS and Europcar).

COMING BY RAIL
Come to Wolfsburg comfortably and climate-neutrally by rail. The ICE intercity express train service will take you to Wolfsburg in just 32 minutes from Hanover, or around an hour from Berlin. There are also direct connections to and from Frankfurt am Main, Leipzig, Cologne, and Freiburg, making Autostadt an attractive destination for visitors coming by rail.

Visitors from the region can use the app from the Braunschweig regional public transport service to arrange travel connections in real time and buy tickets using the VRB app, which is available for download here.
It takes just a few minutes to reach Autostadt on foot using the city bridge from Wolfsburg main railway station or central bus station.
