In the thirty minutes it takes to complete this circuit, the drivers of a SUV encounter every imaginable challenge: manoeuvring across a rutted dirt road and through an enormous cement pipe, traversing extreme corrugations and a number of railway lines, as well as coping with steps and a steep incline.
The vehicles’ technical equipment, like the Hill Descent Assist or the Hill Climb Assist, will help you to master the course. A finely-tuned throttle control and a particularly sensitive ABS system are all instrumental in the handling of the vehicles when negotiating the offroad track’s hard-to-traverse routes. The first time around an Autostadt instructor will drive the course with you. Next time round you take the wheel.

Safety and hygiene measures for the driving experience programme
You can now book rides on the off-road track, safety training courses in Autostadt vehicles, as well as free "alternative drive" test drives in the electric cars again. To that end, the Autostadt has adopted comprehensive hygiene and safety measures based on official regulations to ensure the safety of participants. This includes filling out a registration form before starting the journey, and a piece of film between the driver's and co-driver's seat. The vehicles are also cleaned, ventilated and disinfected after each journey. In addition, all passengers must wear mouth and nose protection so that people accompanying them from their own household can also take part in the journey.
