With an interior that was completely redesigned in 2011, the Volkswagen pavilion takes its visitors on a journey through the diverse world of Volkswagen. The centrepiece of the pavilion - a glass cube measuring 25 x 25 metres and a height of 21 metres - is the media sculpture “Markenkern” (core of the brand). The approximately 700 000 LEDs on its outer skin form the so-called “brandstream” which, on a surface of about 155 square metres, wraps itself around the sculpture and illuminates it in every conceivable colour.

In addition the LED surface, which includes high-resolution sections, is also able to present Volkswagen films which focus on driving, design, technology and themed films.  The area below measures just less than 440 square metres and hosts current Volkswagen models. A separate room, with an area of about 260 square metres, displays temporary exhibitions
