Since 2002, the Autostadt has been recognized as an accredited extra-curricular learning centre by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs. In its role as a joint partner, the Autostadt implements a Mobility Curriculum offering a series of work modules, guided tours and events. The curriculum offers schools in Lower Saxony practical tips and ideas on how to implement the subject of mobility in the classroom.
Programmes for groups, classes and schools
Lifelong Learning offers workshops, which can be booked in advance and specially adapted to the Mobility Curriculum. Classes and school groups learn based on an interdisciplinary approach and using modern media technology. The programmes cover topics reflecting the different aspects of mobility, including people, business and society, STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), art and culture. All courses are supervised and directed by a team of professional educators.
There are also special work groups taking place over an extended period and focusing on a self-chosen topic, for example, cooking in teams and healthy eating, or the restoration of old bicycles.
SummerCamps for teenagers
During the summer holidays, children and teenagers from age 9 to 15 can attend the popular Summer Camps. These one-week programmes each have their own theme and include educational support along with overnight accommodation and meals at the Wolfsburg Youth Hostel.
