Take a journey into the roots of the Scout, an automotive icon in the US. At the Group Forum, we will show you one of the forerunners of the modern SUV: the Scout II.

The Scout, which was made in the US, is steeped in tradition. At the Volkswagen Group, we believe that this vehicle has a wonderful past and a promising future. Under the 'Scout' name, Volkswagen is planning to launch a fully electric pickup and a rugged SUV on the American market. The first prototypes will be presented next year, and series production is scheduled to start in 2026.

Since production began in 1960, the Scout quickly gained a reputation as a robust and sporty workhorse. Other manufacturers have always viewed this vehicle as a role model for their all-wheel-drive vehicles, especially the SUVs that are widely used today. By 1980, when production ended, 532,674 vehicles had been manufactured. In addition to SUVs, pickups were also developed, produced, and sold under the Scout brand.
