Autostadt GmbH's terms and conditions

for the issue of Autostadt cards and gift vouchers and for the redemption thereof

§1 Scope of the terms and conditions

Upon purchasing an Autostadt card, the customer accepts the terms and conditions. The house rules form part of the terms and conditions.

§2 Autostadt card

The Autostadt can only grant access to visitors who have a valid Autostadt card, and only through the designated visitor entrances. The Autostadt card is to be kept throughout the duration of your stay at the Autostadt and must be produced to Autostadt employees upon request.
The Autostadt card is only valid on day of purchase. The Autostadt card acts as electronic cash and is not a credit card. The Autostadt card can be loaded up again through the Autostadt.
Autostadt GmbH will impose a charge to replace any lost cards. The credit on the lost card will be carried forward to the new card, if details of the old card (such as card number) can be provided.
The value on the card cannot be exchanged for cash.

§3 Entrance fees

Please refer to the price list for the current entrance fees. Entrance fees will not be refunded. Visiting attractions on the Autostadt premises which are not explicitly included and consequently not part of the contract is not part of our service. Should an attraction be out of service, we can offer neither partial nor full refunds. In exceptional legal circumstances, the Autostadt will reimburse you to a maximum of the entrance price. No claims can be made in cases of force majeure.

§4 Vouchers

The following vouchers are issued by the Autostadt:

- Autostadt complimentary vouchers
- Evening meal vouchers
- Vouchers for customers picking up new cars

The value of the voucher is credited the Autostadt card. The customer has no claim to Autostadt complimentary vouchers, and these are not issued per request. The vouchers must be redeemed in the order of issue. Vouchers must be redeemed within one year of the date of issue. Evening meal vouchers are only valid on date of issue.

§5 Gift cards

Customers with gift cards may use the value on the gift card as they please in the Autostadt (except for VOTEX). Any balance left over will remain on the card. The balance available is the actual value on the card, and not the value indicated on the gift card sleeve. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash.

§6 Vouchers issued by third parties

In accordance with paragraph 364 II of the BGB (German Civil Code), the Autostadt GmbH accepts vouchers issued by third parties as payment. Claims against the customer do not expire until the third parties have fulfilled their obligations. The voucher must be used within 1 year of the date of issue. Such vouchers can be redeemed against entrance fees, tours, presentations and food and drink. Lost vouchers will not be refunded.

§7 Liability limitations

The Autostadt GmbH shall not be held responsible for intent or gross negligence on the customer's part. The Autostadt GmbH shall only be held responsible for its own intent or gross negligence. In reference to vicarious agents, paragraph 831 of the BGB (German Civil Code) applies.

§8 Events

The same liability limitations which apply to the Autostadt also apply to events which take place on the Autostadt premises (for example concerts, seminars). Separate tickets for such events are required. These can be ordered and collected in the Autostadt. Tickets can only be reserved for five days. No refunds or exchanges on tickets. Please check the details printed on the tickets (event, price, date and time) upon receipt. Should an obvious mistake appear on the ticket, you can request a refund within two weeks of receiving the tickets. Commercial resale of tickets prohibited. Exceptions to this require the expressed written permission of the organiser. In the event of cancellation, the organiser will refund the client the purchase price within 6 weeks of the original scheduled event. Events can be moved to another area within the Autostadt without notice. The Autostadt will not provide compensation for damages which have occured through the fault of the customer or through circumstances which are beyond our control. Events may be postponed due to weather conditions. Seats with obstructed views are provided by the organiser and tickets for such seats are sold at a reduced price. Once the performance has started, customers have no claim to reserved seats. Latecomers will only be admitted during intervals. Should there be no interval, admission to latecomers will be refused. Audio and visual recording equipment, included cameras, are prohibited throughout the duration of the event, even if they are intended for private use. Should the event be filmed by authorised personnel, the customer, upon purchasing a ticket, gives his consent to being filmed and to such films being made public.

§9 Data protection

The Autostadt GmbH reserves the right to store customer data that is required for the performance of contract. The Autostadt assures the confidential treatment of such data cording to the BDSG (German Data Protection Act).
