Autostadt Car Park Regulations

Autostadt car parks are intended for the exclusive use of guests and visitors attending the Autostadt or an Autostadt event.

When using car parks, the user must observe the following rules.

1. General

Once a vehicle is parked, an agreement is entered into regarding the use the parking space. Only vehicles authorised for public traffic can be parked in the Autostadt car park. Please note the following exceptions:

• Vehicles bearing third-party advertisement are prohibited from using the ServiceHaus car park. Visitor car parks P 1/ P 2 can be used.
• It is forbidden to park vehicles with trailers attached in any of the Autostadt parking spaces.
• Parking spaces marked for use by disabled persons, holding an identification card with a "G", and parking spaces marked for use by parents with children, may only be used by these groups of people.
• Bicycles, motorbikes, scooters and mopeds must only be parked on the spaces marked accordingly.
• Camper vans must only be parked on the P 2 car park.
• Coaches can pull up directly on the canal side of the ServiceHaus car park while allowing passengers to embark and disembark. Afterwards, the coach must be parked in the bus parking area.

The following conditions are accepted as part of the completed agreement. The user is obliged to observe the car park regulations.

2. Parking Fees

Parking fees must be paid at the payment machines before exiting. The amount payable is calculated based on the duration of stay in the ServiceHaus car park. Between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. there is an hourly fee of €1. After 6 p.m. there is an hourly fee of €0.50. There is no parking fee for duration of up to 15 minutes.

Between the hours of 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. there is a daily charge for the visitor car parks P 1 and P 2 to the amount of €3. From 4 p.m. parking is free of charge.

Parking fees for camper vans must be paid at the payment machines and the charge for the parking space must be paid at the groups’ ticket office.

3. Parking of Vehicles

Vehicles must only be parked within the marked and designated parking spaces.

Vehicles must always be parked so as not to obstruct the entrance to and exit from neighbouring vehicles.

Lanes, escape routes, and fire engine paths must be kept free from obstructions at all times.

Vehicles not authorised for public traffic or prohibited from the car park, will be towed away at the expense of the user.

The parked vehicle must be locked carefully and secured for normal traffic safety.

Please do not leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle. The Autostadt reserves the right to open the vehicle if this rule is not observed and if lives are in danger.

4. Car Park User Liability

Users of the car park are liable for all damage caused to the car park or to other users of the car park, for which they or their passengers are responsible. The user is obliged to bring any damage to the attention of the Autostadt and to the police immediately.

The user must immediately remove any litter or residues for which they are responsible. Otherwise, the Autostadt reserves the right to remove such litter or residues at the expense of the user.

The German Highway Code (StVO) applies in the Autostadt car park and there is a speed limit of 10 km/h.

Due to the fact that car park personnel act in accordance with the Autostadt regulations and further rules, their instructions must be followed.

5. Autostadt Liability

Use of Autostadt car park is at the user's own risk. The Autostadt is liable for all damages, if it can be demonstrated that they were caused by the Autostadt or its personnel, and if they were brought to the attention of its personnel before leaving the car park. The Autostadt assumes no liability for damage or theft of vehicles, or theft of belongings from vehicles. Security monitoring of parked cars or any other service which goes beyond the car park usage, is not provided for by the agreement.

6. Jurisdiction

The venue for all civil disputes arising from this agreement / these car park regulations is the Amtsgericht Braunschweig (Braunschweig district court) HRB 100419.
