The ZeitHaus presents Design ICONS
The Korpus elaborates on aspects of the Rack’s milestone exhibition. The Design ICONS, displayed on pedestals, take the visitor on a journey through the history of automobile design – from its earliest incarnations, still reminiscent of the horse-drawn carriage, to the streamlined developments of the nineties; and from the influences of Art Nouveau to the effects of the unibody. Against Peter Kogler’s backdrop mural which runs throughout the entire exhibition space, each respective automotive development is illustrated by historic images set into the vehicle’s pedestals. In this way the milestones of automobile design are elevated to artworks of technical design.
